tell the world that i'm coming home [open to all!]
Well, he's back.
It's the first time that he's stepped foot inside of Siren Cove since he left back in October. He and James ended things messily, and after everything else that happened, his grandmother's offer of a reprieve in Ireland was just too tempting to pass up. He owns the garage now, and left it in good hands when he left. His grandmother had given him a glamouring spell for Edan, designed to make his fox familiar look like a dog to a human eye, and that made it easier for Davin to travel with him.
He lifts the glamour once the cab that brought them from the airport drives away, and Edan yips before circling Davin's feet excitedly. His apartment smells a little stale, and he opens the windows to air it out. The place looks empty, so full of memories both good and bad, and he sighs as he stares at the coffeemaker. He could really use a cup.
"Dare we go t'Quill so soon?" Davin asks, looking down at Edan, who wags his huge fluffy tail in response. Davin's Irish accent is thick from all the time he spent there, and he knows that he'll most likely switch between English and Gaelic without even realizing it for awhile.
After dropping off his bags and changing into some fresh clothes, he checks his reflection in the mirror. He's changed since he left. The coven put him through physical and mental training, and he did a lot of exercising during his time there. While still lean, he's noticeably more muscular, and his skin is almost milky pale thanks to an Irish winter. There is stubble on his jaw and his hair, usually a mess, is combed back neatly and parted on the side in a way that his grandmother says makes him look like a movie star from back in the good ol' days.
He's wearing a dark green button down shirt over jeans, because it may be January in Maine but it feels practically balmy to Davin. He rolls up the sleeves to his elbows and looks down at the tattoo on his forearm. The roots go down to trail around his wrist, and as Davin watches, the edges seem to crackle blue with electricity. He smiles.
"C'mon, Edan. Time t'face the music." His fox lets out a happy chitter as he follows Davin down the steps, and he sends only Mira a brief text stating that he's arrived, and Quill bound. He's pretty sure that he missed Mira and Quill coffee most of all.
The streets are cool and quiet, and Davin feels a weird juxtaposition as he walks towards downtown. This is his home, the place that he's always loved, but he feels a little like a stranger here. Hopefully once he reconnects with people, that will change.
Hey, he's been all about change lately.

He looked at Davin soothing Edan. "Maybe," he said then glanced at his watch, feeling as though he needed to leave and think through all of this. "I should probably head back to work. I was sent out on a coffee run, I don't think SCPD will be fully operational until I return." He didn't move yet, but added, "I'm glad you're back, I hope you know know that."
Then he stood up. "Edan, it was nice to see you as well."

“Sure,” Davin says, sitting up straight and meeting James’ eye. He’s gotten better at masking his emotions and not wearing them so openly like he always did before. He used to show everything with his face, and now he just looks up at James placidly, aside from the tiny furrow between his brows to show that he’s displeased.
Edan lets out a chitter when James addresses him, seeming confused by the attention, and he flicks his tail before looking away and turning his gaze back on Davin. He can feel how upset Davin is, and wants to jump into his lap, but he knows now isn’t the best time.
“See ya ‘round, James,” he says, smiling tightly and looking back down into his coffee. His phone chirps, letting him know that Mira will be here any moment, and it’ll keep him from sitting here awkward and alone.
