Between his work and his personal shit, Davin isn't having the best time lately.
Tom isn't getting back to him about wanting to meet, probably because he knows his employees are fucking assholes and Davin wants to get rid of them, or he's still on a fucking boat somewhere, so Davin is stuck with the taunts and the insubordination and the disrespect. Each day he leaves the auto shop feeling shittier than the day before, and he goes home to an empty apartment and feels even shittier still.
He has his friends, of course. He has wonderful, amazing, would-die-without-them friends, but he still can't help feeling lonely sometimes. Maybe it's just the weather. It's getting colder, and Davin doesn't see the sun as much. That must be it.
He makes himself a sandwich and some chips for dinner and plops on the couch, reaching lazily for the remote and settling in for a boring night before tucking in early.

"Yeah," Davin agrees without heat. He was kind of an asshole. All Davin did was kind of maybe save his life and invite him into his home and Gabe sort of acted like Davin was a goddamn plague victim when he found out he was a witch. It kind of hurt his feelings. Okay, it hurt his feelings a lot.
Gabe is just kind of standing there looking at him and Davin shuts the door warily, turning to look at him. "Is that all you came to say?"

"I'm sorry," he says, head still down. A circle of hot colour burns in each cheek under his beard.
"I missed you."

Davin startles a bit when Gabe says he missed him, because that takes him a little by surprise. It warms his heart as well, and he smiles a little.
"It's okay," Davin tells him, turning to head back towards the sofa and jerking his chin for Gabe to follow. "I forgive ya. An' I won't use my magic 'round ya if ya don't want me to."

"You don't have to say that," says Gabe, following Davin with both hands still shoved into his pockets. "I...I overreacted. I don't..." He worries his lip. "You don't have to hide anything from me."
no subject
Davin turns to look at him with a shrug and reaches up to scratch the back of his neck. "I don't really use 'em much around people anyway, kinda 'cause I don't want the reaction I got from you. Only my close friends know, really. An' a select few others."
And pretty much every other witch in town, but that's kind of hard to avoid with the witches council.
Gabe looks kind of like an overgrown puppy and Davin can't help but to laugh fondly and come over to tug his hands out of his pockets. "Stop givin' me that look. I'm not mad at ya." He wrinkles up his nose and tilts his head, smiling a bit. "Well, anymore."

When Davin tilts his head like that, Gabe can't help but bend his head and kids hip, just a light brush of lips.

The kiss surprises Davin a little. The way Gabe reacted, he'd just assumed that he wouldn't want to do this with him anymore. Part of Davin thinks he should pull away, the part that's still a little hurt, but he just kisses him back softly and gives him a smile when he pulls away.
"Come, sit. D'ya want a beer or anythin'?" He tugs Gabe further into the apartment and away from the door.
