BACKGROUND & HISTORY: Davin is the first of his family to have been born in America. His parents immigrated to Boston from Ireland a few years before Davin’s birth. His parents are proud, stern people who thought they could do better for themselves after a fresh start in America. Davin was raised as an only child in a lax Irish Catholic household, and his parents were disappointed but ultimately not too bothered when Davin realized early on that he had no interest in religion.
He went to public school while his parents found moderate success, each of them bringing in decent middle class incomes. They moved to Siren Cove when Davin was twelve after his mother expressed a desire to be back near the sea and they were able to afford a modest bungalow about a mile inland.
Davin always got along well enough with both of his parents, but he never really formed a strong bond with either of them. He’s closest to his maternal grandmother, who he has only seen in person a handful of times as she lives back in Ireland. They keep in close contact via email and phone calls, and she is who Davin most often confides in.
