Davin slumps in relief when James sees to decide that he's staying. It would have been awful had he left, but Davin doesn't have to worry about that. He leans into James' touch and sighs, pulling his feet under himself and turning to face him, reaching out to rest a hand on his chest. "It is. I still remember everything from that other place, but it's, I dunno, sorta like a dream. I had t'have been worse for ya, bein' the only one who couldn't remember."
His hand slides up to cup James' cheek and he looks at him for a long moment, smiling a little and thumbing at his jaw. "I couldn't forget ya entirely, though. Ya kept makin' me remember little things. Ya brought me back."
That's really something to think about. Their feelings for each other are so strong that it poked holes in the very fabric of Nerium's spell. He thinks back on the kiss they shared when Davin's memories returned, and he feels a little robbed of where it could have led.
"It feels dumb t'say I missed ya when I didn't even have my memories, but I did," he says, sliding his hand up into James' hair and leaning in to press their foreheads together. "There was somethin' missin' the whole time, an' I kept not knowin' what it was. But it was this. It was us."
