He was supposed to have the day off. That didn't quite happen.

His phone woke up him at nine, and on the other end was his distraught mother. A pipe in his parents' basement had burst, and even though Davin is a mechanic and not a plumber, he was the one she called. Funny how she refuses to acknowledge his magic until she needs to take advantage of it.

His dad's out of town on business, so it was up to Davin to calm his mother and keep the basement from his childhood home from flooding. He sat his mother down on the sofa and turned off the water before heading down to the basement with his tools. He was able to use his magic to cut through the ruined section of pipe and hold up the new one so he could solder it in place, and then he cleaned up the basement as best he could.

He emerged hours later, wet and dirty and in a lousy mood, and his mother demanded he stay for tea before he could leave.

Now he's freshly showered, hair still a little damp at the ends as it sticks up everywhere, and he's wandering through the town's main drag as he tries to decide how to spend his evening. Beer will make an appearance at some point, surely.

He's weighing the pros and cons of pub food when someone brushes by him, and a streetlight glints off of some metal sliding out of the person's pocket. Davin stares at the keys as they fall and wills them to stop mid-air, holding out his hand and sending the keys flying through the air to land gently in his palm.

"Excuse me," he calls out, his Irish accent a little thicker due to his exhaustion. He shakes the keys out, peering out to try and see if he recognizes the person. "I think you dropped these."

[Come meet Davin! He's lived in Siren Cove since he was a kid, so if your character has been around for awhile they may recognize him. All his info is here, but the bullet points are: 22 year old gay Irish witch/mechanic who just wants a damn beer.]

Brigid turned after locking up the shop when she heard something she hadn't heard since coming to Siren Cove...a little bit of home.

"Did I, then? I must not have put them all the way in my pocket. Doesn't quite account for how they found themselves over t'you, now does it?"

She was smiling as she said it, already walking towards the younger man. "Unless there's trickery afoot?"

"I don't have any k-"

The keys of St. Bernadette's. The ones Luke thought he had left behind after fixing their network. "Heck."

The voice is familiar - he's seen the guy around. The keys in his hand are familiar too, though Gabe does automatically check his pocket to make sure.

"Shit," he says, grinning. "Thanks, man. You headin' my way?" he nods towards the pub, the inviting light spilling out onto the sidewalk. He knows a man in need of a beer when he sees one.

"Thanks. I'm all over the place this morning." Lara said, straightening her hair and settling her bag over her shoulder. "I was wondering if someone could take a look at my girl? She started hiccuping when I shift to third. Know anything about Mustangs?"

"What?" Raleigh turns around, and it's obvious from her face that she's tired, and the word's just a little sharper than she means. There's flour streaking her cheek and in her hair - she's trying to get her recipes right because she's got about two weeks before the bakery opens, and she's so incredibly nervous all the time - and Joel had...

She gets that people are crabby sometimes, and she knows it doesn't really matter, but Joel was snippy this morning, and it just kind of started everything off on the wrong foot. Still, she turns around and he can see the actual irritation just sort of melt off her face when she realises that she doesn't actually know him. "Sorry, I.. Oh, wow." It's the keys for the bakery. She's been cooking for nearly twelve hours, and if she'd made it all the way home without them, there's no way she would have remembered where she'd dropped them. "Wow, seriously, you're a lifesaver, thank you."

Reaching for them, she clears her throat and smiles, and she's not quite sure why, but- "If you ever want free pastry, just stop by after I open in two weeks, and it's yours. I owe you one."

Iris is caught off guard by the sound of someone seemingly calling after her. Turning on her heel, she spots a rather adorable looking man holding up her keys. She laughs, surprised, and strides back towards him.

"I didn't even feel them slip out," she chuckles, taking them and tucking them firmly into her purse. "Thank you so much!"

Now that she's closer, a slight frown tugs at her forehead. This close, its clear he's exhausted and that worries her. "Hey, are you okay? You don't look so great..."

"Oh, shit, for real?" says Gemma, slapping her ass with both hands as she whirls around and sees a set of keys dangling from his hand. Her wallet is definitely still in the left side, and her keys are definitely missing from the right. "Thanks, dude. I'm pretty sure my neighbours already think I'm a weirdo and possibly a criminal. I don't even want to know what they'd do if they caught me breaking into my house. Trying to break into my house. I'm bad enough with locks when I have a key."

Bailey's out on a walk, thinking up a song in his head, when he hears someone calling out to him. In the middle of a hum, he turns to find his own keys dangling off of someone else's hands.

"Oh," he says, surprised, but grateful, taking the proffered keys. "Thank you. I would have kept walking without knowing any better."

"Davin!"

It was entirely possible that it was another resident of Siren Cove with an Irish accent that sounded a lot like his friend growing up but he really doubted it. The fact that he dropped his keys is immaterial, when Kim spun around his face lit up at seeing his friend.

"Hey, it is you!"
